Munch Mondays is back at Dunes!

Welcome back to Munch Mondays at Dunes Hotel Apartments – an enjoyable afternoon of learning, socializing and savoring freshly created Arabic, Continental and Chinese dishes from the new menu. Led by in-house Sous Chef Rajender Singh and hosted by Nazia Amberene, a School of Culinary and Finishing Arts (SCAFA) certified professional, this fun-filled series of workshops will take participants step-by- step through the process of preparing gourmet 3-course meals easy to try out at home.

Come learn, mingle and dine-in with like-minded gourmands and aspiring chefs.

When: Every Monday (Upcoming sessions: 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th November)

Our Iftar buffet is back!

Dine-in at Dunes Delights this Ramadan and savour over 30 Iftar delicacies from cooling sherbets to nourishing soups, tender kebabs and delectable biryanis. Must try dishes include Tandoori mixed grills, Mutton Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken, Chicken Mandi, drinks like Kamruddin and Jallab and the classic Arabic cheese dessert Kanafeh. Live cooking stations serving fresh Appams and dessert crepes have also been introduced by popular demand. Open right through Ramadan from sunset to 8.30pm, the buffet is priced at AED 59 for adults and AED 40 for children 5-11 years old. We also offer special Iftar Food Packs for Individual & bulk orders starting from AED 25 onwards.

Make your dinners special

Enjoy a mélange of Arabic and Indian flavours at our delightful dinner buffet every evening from 8.30 – 10.30pm. Dig into our popular appetizers - Shish Taouk and Cheese Sambousek. If you haven’t tried our chef’s special Beef Bamia yet then head out to sample it at our dinner buffet. And for those with a real sweet tooth, we highly recommend our version of the Umm Ali and Carrot Halwa. Make it a nice evening out for the entire family. Iftar Delights

Ramadan is just around the corner and in the lead up to it, we are organizing two special culinary workshops where you’ll learn to cook a delicious Iftar spread for your family, friends and loved ones. And while you are at it meet, mingle and dine-in with like-minded gourmands and aspiring chefs. Led by our in-house 5-star Sous Chef Rajender Singh and hosted by Nazia Amberene, a School of Culinary and Finishing Arts (SCAFA) certified professional, these workshops will introduce you to mouth-watering, traditional delicacies from Arabic and Indian cuisines. You’ll also learn a thing or two about healthy eating during Ramadan and take home our chef’s special recipes and tips and tricks that will give your cooking that 5-star flair. Even if you don’t observe Ramadan or prepare Iftars at home, this is a chance for all you food buffs out there to learn something new.

Dunes Launches Happiness Initiative

On the occasion of International Day of Happiness, award-winning Dunes Hotel Apartments today officially announced the launch of ‘Hi’ the chain’s brand new Happiness Initiative.

“Inspired by Dubai’s National Happiness and Positivity Programme we wanted to launch a corporate initiative focused on spreading joyfulness and creating a positive environment for guests and employees alike. At its heart, Hi is about celebrating everyday happiness and delighting our guests by going over and beyond the line of duty. It is also about continuing to make our employees feel valuable and making Dunes a happier place to work. Our focus as an organization will be about creating little moments of surprise and personal, genuine and happy human interactions everyday” enthused Faisal Abdul Rahman, General Manager, Dunes Hotel Apartments.

The program will add a dose of cheer by introducing happiness actions across its day-to-day functions at Front Desk, Room Service, F&B, HR and Dunes Hadiya – the chain’s loyalty program. Dunes has also recruited, from among its front line staff, 1 Happiness Ambassador per property to lead the initiative. The Ambassadors, selected based on their positive attitude and track record for customer service excellence, will be specially trained and given a free rein to use personal initiative and creativity to surprise and delight guests.

The apartment chain also plans to create a community Happiness Zone for guests to meet, mingle and engage in simple activities together.

  • At Dunes, nearly 90% of the lighting is energy efficient. Public areas in all hotel properties have motion sensors, and room lights are controlled by smart systems.
  • As part of its efforts aimed at minimizing water consumption, Dunes launched a linen reuse program in all guest rooms, installed low-flow showerheads, sink aerators and dual flush in bathrooms, and placed visual reminders for guests.
  • Dunes has separate collection bins for paper, cardboard, cans, plastic, and food wastes, and it uses recyclable bags.
  • Dunes Hotel Apartments offers complimentary bus service to reduce the need for extra taxis while transferring guests to malls and areas of public interest.
  • At Dunes Delights, the ultimate destination for food lovers keen to sample some of the world’s finest cuisines, fresh and seasonal vegetables and fruit sourced from the local market are used.

In line with its commitment to promote environmental sustainability, each year Dunes takes an active part in a number of campaigns including “Clean Up UAE” and “For our Emirates we plant” organized by Emirates Environmental Group.

Guests staying at the Dunes Oud Metha property can see the rescued Ghaf tree. The Ghaf, a national tree of the UAE, is possibly the sturdiest plant in the harsh desert environment. Dunes strongly believes in the importance of conserving the tree of the dunes, and encourages the public to make the United Arab Emirates a greener place by planting trees.

Additionally, Dunes provides tips and resources to help guests reduce their environmental impact while staying at the hotel. In 2017, Dunes introduced the eco calendar to raise awareness among guests and to inspire them to adopt simple but impactful eco-friendly behaviors.

The environmental responsibility program at Dunes has already delivered impressive results. In the last 12 months, Dunes Oud Metha reduced energy consumption by 20% and CO2 emissions by 244 tonnes, which is equivalent to planting 52 trees.
